July 1st was Pat's first retirement check. Yes he is officially retired. He returns from Hawaii on July 6th to Dublin (58 days of surfing, only 42 more days to go). He will move to Tahoe for summer training, which includes: running, hiking, biking, etc. Ali of course is still working. Tammy and the kids returned on July 2nd. They plan on tackling some of the Tahoe training with Aunt Nechia too... Pat had a little injury to his left knee (torn meniscus), so he'll have surgery on Aug 11th. It's the price you pay for a 100 days of surfing and still trying to be a runner when you old and falling apart. But Pat stills says, "bring it on!"
