Pat gets into his surfing mode during the spring months
May Day (5/1) in Hawaii is called Lei Day Hokulani the Dog
Not Birds
They're so many fun days in May. First there's May Day, then the 4th of May, and then Cinco de Mayo
The Palis went on a hike. Guess where???

Our grandson Cole gets a haircut
Enough about sunsets, how about a sunrise
So on Facebook, one of my fellow coaches challenged me to post coaching photos for 10 days w/o comments. So I decided to post all 10 photos at once with comments. These are my favorite people and I love them all. My Ultimate Girls / Heather & Justin / 4 generations of snowboarders (Deegan, Meaghan, Shellie, & me) Zack hiking / Justin Pole Vaulting / Backpacking with Jeff Coaching my daughters in soccer / Surfing with Carlyn / Skiing with Cole and Reed
And the 10th photo is of my favorite coach. My Dad. "The Real Coach Pohl"
Other coaches : My Mom (s) My Mom (Mary) and my mother-in-laws had big effects on me. (Edel and Evalou)
But I'd have to say the best coach I've ever had, has to be Ali
And the coaching story continues with great grand kids and Daughters who are golden.
As you can see, not always was my coaching dealing with sports. Sometimes is was about life.
Found a new morning run spot. Excellent (Thanks Robert for the info)
Took Ali back for a walk on the beach at sunset
Kind of cool: one year earlier to the day we were next to the Atlantic Ocean instead of the Pacific
In my life, I have been blessed with being around great mothers. Individuals who have had a big impact on my life and who I have become. I can't tell you enough of how much you mean to me & how much I love you all. Starting with my mom: Mary. Then Sharon: the great mother of my children & then my 2 mother in laws: Edel and Eva Lou. Then on to the third generation of fantastic mothers began. My amazing daughters: Tammy, Nechia, and Shellie (daughter in law) have raised incredible individuals. And now on to the 4th generation of great mothers: Meaghan w/ Deegan, Heather w/ Rilynn, & the newest mother: Carlyn w/ Carter
But I think one of the most popular grandmother/great grandmother & my favorite, is the evil step mom: Ali
In case they ever have a "Happy Daughter's Day". I have to say I have two of the finest. My two daughter Tammy and Nechia who are mothers now (Nechia is a grandmothers) are Golden. They are the best.
.The other day on her walk Ali came across a recording while listening to her music on her phone. It was entitled, "ReedCole". It was a recording from when Reed was 10 and Cole was 6. In their monologues they discussed their favorite things, who were their friends, what vacations they liked, and how much they loved their parents.. This year Cole in his freshman year took a video class at his high school. He found old videos his mom had taken of them when they were really young & for his final project for the class made this video.

A Walk around Magic Island
We made it to the "Little Sweden" Facebook page as their post today
Last month I posted sunsets and sunrises in both Lake Tahoe and Hawaii. Today I posting photo of Lake Tahoe and Hawaii just during the day.
A sunset and a surf night
Over the last decade I have been running the Hibiscus Half Marathon held every Memorial Day Weekend. I've been lucky enough and old enough to place in many of the finishes for my age group. This year however, I not only place but I won my age division. If fact this year I came in first place for the entire race. Before you start to marvel over my self proclaiming and self serving bragging, you should know that this year the race was cancelled.. But I still ran the course. I thought I should still get some recognition for that. LOL
Found this video and thought I should have it on my page for Memorial Day
I love movies

May was a good month. Still dealing with the pandemic.
