During our 2025 road trip, the Palis stopped in Newport Beach and stayed with the Lorentzens.  We were joined by the Caruselles, and the Metgers.  It was four days of constant laughs and reliving old times. Joe, Terry, Darrell, and Pat all played football together back at Newport Harbor High School and have continued to be good friends for over sixty years since.  Thanks to their great wives: Kerry, Debbie, Ali, and Bev.

Not only were we with old friends, but Pat's brother Mickey and Nanette joined us.  Along with several other Newport Harbor grads.  Terry's son Drew did a wonderful job on the barbecue.  The food was great.

The page below is from a book written about the Battle of the Bay.  Which is about the rivalry between Corona del Mar and Newport Harbor High School football games.  This one talks about the 1963 game which was the first ever game played between the two school.  The Bay refers to the Back Bay in Newport Beach.

At the 2024 60th Newport Harbor High School Reunion held in September of 2024, we got the "We Five" finally back together.  The "We Five" were Terry, Joe, Pat, and Darrell along with his brother Dan. Unfortunately Joe had to miss the 2024 60th H.S. reunion, so we did a photo shop thing for our then photo.  So during the 2025 reunion/barbecue, we had to do some more photo shopping to get Dan in.
