2022 Christmas Newsletter

2022 was not a very good year for Pat.  Two bouts of bad flu (not covid), a hernia operation with mesh being put in his abdominal area, a stent put in his heart, two and a half of the most painful months ever suffered, which resulted in a herniated disc surgery via a one inch drill being used in his lower back.  Then the last day of the year Ali was in the emergency room at our local hospital with stroke like symptoms which turned out to be a bad reaction to a medication. We will be happy to get on to 2023.  But there were some good things too. The birth of our fifth great grand child, Wyatt. Steve and Heather had their second child to compliment their daughter Rilynn.  Carlyn and her husband Hunter son, Carter, celebrated his two year birthday in grand fashion.  Meaghan is still in school to get her x-ray technician license. Her two boys, Deegan and Justin are just the most handsome of boys.  Nechia and Dan surely will get some grand parents of the year award. Shellie and Jeff are still living in Tahoe practically next door to Pat and Ali and enjoying their Tahoe Life Style.  Two of our grandsons Justin and Zack are doing well.  Zack still proudly serving his country in the Army and Justin is the lead tech guy for the San Ramon School District.  He also is getting his pilot license.  The Gaynors are still going strong with two seniors in the family.  No not old people but grandsons Cole and Reed.  Cole is a senior in high school and Reed is a senior in College (UCSB). Both are honor students and Cole plays baseball and accomplished a rare feat in his sport. He started a triple play in the late innings of one of his games. Reed on the other hand turned 21 and had his first beer (Yeah, I’m sure of that) But more importantly he got to gamble with his grandpa and won. Pat Gaynor is still making money for people and Tammy works at St. Raymond’s School. Pat got to go to Utah and ski with high school friends Greg, Darrell, and Terry at Brian Head Ski Resort. Ali did lose her favorite Aunt Harriet in February but got to hook up with all her sisters for annual photo.  Nechia and Tammy came to Kauai and spent a week in paradise with Ali and Pat. We also got to hook up with our nephew Javan who lives in Colorado. Pat finished his annual 1/2 marathon.  Pat also never missed watching any of the Golden State Warriors basketball games which I'm sure is the reason they won the NBA championship. More sporting things.  Ali won the annual croquet championship in Tahoe and the Millers hosted another Turkey Bowl Event.
