It was a small group of nine and Milo the dog. I'm sure it wasn't because it was a 12 miler with an elevation climb of over 2,000 feet that discouraged our hiking group to maybe miss this one. But those who chose to brave the challenge had a spectacular hike with vistas and views that were incredible. Yes it was an ass kicker, but well worth the workout. Thanks Harry as usual for organizing these fantastic hikes.
If you noticed the group photo has 9 of us. The first group photo under that one only had 7 and no dog. Matt and Jacqueline started an hour after the group started and they caught up with us. Youth is such a great gift. It's a shame they waste in on Kids. LOL. Anyway we were now a full team and ready to go.
Here we were complaining about a 12 mile hike and the elevation climb, when 3 hikers came up from behind and passed us. One of them looked like a cheer leader with all sorts of ribbons. They were volunteers that were marking the trail for a race. A 200 mile ultra endurance race. They said the contestants usually finish between 50 and 100 hours. That's insane. Meet Jamison, Josh (the ribbon man) and Ken. Alias: super studs.
And us hikers continue on with our hike, but without complaining now. What happened to that tree?
And yes, there was snow on the Snow Valley Peak Hike. And great vistas and breath taking views.
Just like the movie. How much further is it to the top? "A mile, or mile and a half". LOL
We make it to the top. Lunch break and great views both sides of the Peak. Carson City, Reno, & Lake Tahoe
The Bush Whackers. Is that Dr. Donna? Could she get a ticket for leaving the trail? LOL
A great photo of Jacqueline. Advantages of staying back and encouraging the photographer to keep going.
The lichen's ring tree. How does nature do that? I saw a lot of Harry's butt today.
The best part of the hike. Does Daniel look like he just hiked 12 miles. NO. And Matt got back early too.

Just Pat photos. A rarity. Thanks Jacqueline. LOL Plus, I'm always the last one in the group.
