What can we say.  2020 was a challenging year.  The COVID pandemic made everyone’s life difficult.  However the Palis did the best they could.  We started the year off on a pretty normal note. Reed was playing baseball at Chabot College.  Meaghan and her son Deegan were coming up to snowboard. We were going to movies. Nephew Javan and grandson Justin came to Tahoe to snowboard also. Granddaughter Carlyn found out she was pregnant with our third great grandchild (Carter) and Great Granddaughter Rilynn turned one year old. We remodel our kitchen and Pat was making improvements on his torn rotator cuff recovery.  Ali was also struggling with a shoulder injury.  One left, one right for Pat and Ali. And then in March, the bottom fell out.  We had to wear masks, social distance and stay at home and the world stopped spinning.  We normally go to Hawaii in April but we left Tahoe in March.  When we arrived in our Hawaii Condo we were locked in doors for two weeks. Finally after the 14 days we were able to go out into the sun.  We did our first Zoom Taco Tuesday and began to go on hikes mostly to Botanical Gardens.  When we returned to the mainland we found that Shellie was engaged to Jeff.  I know, it sounds weird.  But they started a new company in Tahoe.  Tahoe Jerky Company.  Meaghan met someone new named Justin, but sadly we lost him this year.  She will carry on his legacy with his son though. She is due in early 2021. One thing good about the pandemic is we got to see the Gaynors more in Tahoe.  Since Reed and Cole are doing classes on line and not playing sports, they have the freedom to visit us in Tahoe along with their parents Tammy and Pat. Instead of returning to Hawaii for our autumn sojourn, we did the Autumn Pali Road Trip.  It really was a substitute for our Hawaiian Gang reunion which was to be held in September. But like most things it got cancelled.  So we did our best to visit as many of our reunion friends that would have seen at the reunion this year.  Since most of them live on the West Coast we were able to have a great road trip.  Again there are lots of photos on our website of all of our activities in 2020.  In November, the Gaynors return to Tahoe for some skiing and a quiet Thanksgiving. Christmas season has brought us Shellie bringing her son Zack to us for a quick visit before he has to go back to his Military Duties in Kansas.  He has been serving his country in Korea with all the pandemic problems they have to deal with too. Now with the height of the Pandemic problems upon us, we will make it through this year but hope that 2021 will be steps towards a more normal lifestyle for all of us. Ali’s family is well and she had the chance to spend time with her sisters in December.  She is still working at the Deerfield Lodge and has been up on the hill skiing several times already. We wish you all a wonderful upcoming year in 2021 & hope we can see you & laugh a lot with you all. Hoping 2021 will be better.
